Palkkad: The work of the KINFRA Mega Food Park in Palakkad, approved by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Govt. of India, is nearing completion at Kanjikode, according to top KINFRA officials. The Park, situated on a 79.42-acre plot, is being built under the Mega Food Park Scheme (MFPS).
Under the project, KINFRA has undertaken site development, including construction of roads, drainage, and water and electricity supply facilities. Besides the basic facilities (basic enabling infrastructure), KINFRA has also constructed common facilities that are specifically designed for the food processing sector called the ‘core facilities or core processing infrastructure’. It is estimated that the Park would employ about 1500 people directly and 5000 people indirectly.
