Vodafone Foundation Launches ‘Women Of Pure Wonder’
Kochi: Sunil Sood, MD & CEO, Vodafone India, along with guests of honour Aruna Sundararajan Secretary-Union Ministry of Steel; J S Deepak, Secretary- Department of Telecommunications and Shyamala Gopinath, Chair-CSR committee, VIL India board launched the Women of Pure Wonder, a coffee table bookby Vodafone Foundation on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
This book, third in a special series focusing exclusively on women empowerment, chronicles tales of 50 inspirational women from across the country who opted to take the road less travelled. The extraordinary deeds of these women, who braved all social, economic and familial odds to find success in their chosen field of work, are an inspiration to women across the country. The awe-inspiring exploits of these 50 women have been categorised under three sections - Vision, Valour and Victory.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Sood said, “I congratulate all the women achievers featured in the book and acknowledge the contribution of all women across India who are redefining womanhood in every sense. Gender disparity in itself is an acute social challenge in our country.
