The one-stop shopping destination can also function as a platform for conducting exhibitions and events. The mall will have ‘pettikkada’ model shops near the entrance. The developers are planning to set aside five per cent of the profit generated from the functioning of the mall for charitable activities, including building homes for the homeless and providing medical aids to the needy.
“Our vision is to become the ‘green’ shopping, food, family and entertainment destination. Our primary goal is to become the first 'green mall' in the country, and we believe that Thiruvananthapuram will help us succeed in this mission,” said Kishore Kutty, General Manager, Mall of Travancore.
Spread over seven acres and with a built-up area of 6.4 lakh sq. ft., the mall expects to see a footfall of 35,000 people per day.

Some of the important locations in the mall are named after famous landmarks in Kerala. The entrance of the mall, where all the events would be organised, is called ‘Swaraj Ground’, named after the place in Thrissur. The food courts are named ‘Mittai Theruvu’, after the famed commercial street in Kozhikode, and ‘Palayam Market’ and ‘Kizhakeekkotta’ of Thiruvananthapuram.
The mall will also have the first seven-screen multiplex of Carnival Cinemas in the city.
