Delightful Hospitality With A Seasonal Flavour
Kochi: If there is one season that gives a distinct and mystical identity to Kerala, the God’s Own Country blessed with the nature’s green cover and unique topography, it is monsoon. And this was precisely the reason why the management of ‘Monsoon Empress’, the newest addition to the five star hotel segment in Kochi, decided to name their property after monsoon season. Nearly every other facility in the hotel bears names which remind the visitor of the monsoon.
‘Monsoon Empress’, the newest addition to the five star hotel segment in Kochi, has an inventory of 51 tastefully done rooms to offer to its visitors
“This is a new brand and it is our own brand. We named the hotel ‘Monsoon Empress’ because it is a unique name which has a connection to the tantalizing monsoon rains that drenches our State. Our ability to accommodate more guests in the MICE and Food and Beverage (F&B) segments is very strong and we hope to bring in a lot of activities through these two segments,” says Isaac Francis Jr., Executive Partner, Monsoon Empress, about their business model.
The hotel has an inventory of 51 tastefully done rooms to offer to its visitors. The enchanting interior design of the hotel lobby, rooms and restaurants is a testimony to the high standards the hotel follows in matters of hospitality. According to Francis Jr., the hotel’s guest rooms – executive, deluxe and suites are larger in terms of their area when compared to similar inventories at the properties of the competitors.
The hotel has two banquet facilities, one mini conference hall and a well-equipped boardroom. Banquet hall ‘Raindrops’ which is located on the second floor flaunts a contemporary design and can accommodate 650 to 700 persons. Equipped with all amenities required for holding big events, the single-column pillar-less facility is one of the biggest selling points of the hotel.
‘Rainbow’ is the other banquet facility, which is smaller in area, can accommodate a maximum of 150 to 180 persons. ‘Pavilion’ is another mini conference hall at Monsoon Empress which can accommodate an average of 70 to 80 persons. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, Pavilion is ideal for small conferences and can also be converted to hold small gatherings.
The boardroom named ‘Mist’ offers ideal office conditions to host meetings and discussions. It can accommodate 8 to 10 people and is flexible enough to be turned into a great makeshift workspace.
One of the major attractions of the hotel is the vastly spread out Food & Beverage (F&B) units. Monsoon Empress has three F&B outlets – a multi-cuisine restaurant, oriental specialty restaurant and Indian specialty dining. In addition to these, the hotel has a lounge bar and sports bar facilities at the lobby level.
Just over a month since coming into existence, Monsoon Empress has already secured five star classification. “We have just started out. The hotel has effectively added to the five star inventory of Kochi which does not witness any decline in demand around the year. Let us not forget that Kochi is the MICE hub of Kerala,” says Rajesh T G, General Manager, Monsoon Empress.
Kochi does not have a dearth of five star facilities, meaning that Monsoon Empress could face tough competition. When asked why should a guest choose the hotel over other big players in Kochi’s hospitality market, Rajesh said, “We have the advantage of location. It is not in the middle of all the hustle and bustle and the commute to the hotel from the airport and railway station is fairly easy.
