Destination Kerala SME Excellence Awards 2018 Presented
Kochi: The second edition of Destination Kerala SME Excellence Awards 2018 was held in what was a glittering ceremony at Crowne Plaza Kochi on December 7. Prof. K V Thomas, Member of Parliament and former Union Minister, inaugurated the award ceremony by lighting the lamp and delivered the inaugural address.
The parliamentarian said that perception of the State as one not conducive to establishing businesses was wrong. He encouraged all the award winners to seize the opportunities that come their way.
Over 100 guests comprising HNWIs, entrepreneurs, investors, senior-level decision-makers, professional consultants and social influencers apart from members of the SME community attended the event.
“SMEs are the unsung heroes of economic and industrial development in Kerala. Yet most independent recognition programmes focus on large enterprises where success stories are easier to find and the evaluation process is not tedious. We wanted to address this gap and also do something that would bring deserving Kerala SMEs under the spotlight and help them in their onward journey,” said Jose Kunnappally, Editor, Destination Kerala, in his speech welcoming the dignitaries to the event.
In a pre-recorded video message, E P Jayarajan, Minister for Industries and Commerce, wished all the winners of Destination Kerala SME Excellence Awards.
K Biju IAS, Director, Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Kerala presided over the function.
