Kochi: Traditional healing is fast gaining popularity not only in India but in foreign countries as well. While there are many such healing centres offering different methods, Vaidya Healthcare has a different approach. The five-year-old centre which is Green Leaf and ISO 9001:2015-certified believes in only one core healing system, Ayurveda.
Vaidya Healthcare has, within this short span of time, successfully established itself as an ‘Ayurvedic hospital with a difference’ under the leadership of Dr. Kiran B Nair, MD, Vaidya Healthcare. “Vaidya provides specialised treatment. It is not merely an ayurvedic hospital. We give the best traditional ayurvedic panchakarma treatment and the best combination of medications customised depending on each patient’s needs,” says Dr. Kiran.
The system combines the goodness of physiotherapy, yoga, acupuncture and naturopathy. The hospital, unlike others where each department works independently, has physiotherapy, yoga, naturopathy and acupuncture departments that work complementing each other and in unison, thus functioning in effect as a single unit to provide best possible relief to patients by keeping Ayurveda at the core.
Having 11 experienced Ayurvedic consultants and 48 staff, the hospital specialises in panchakarma treatment. “Keraleeya chikitsa is also offered based on each patient’s need. Specially customized medications/kashayams (herbal concoctions) for each patient is prepared and given depending on their clinical conditions. Herbal concoctions are custom-made for each patient, mainly after considering his or her specific conditions,” says Dr. Kiran.
The centre specialises in ortho-neuro rehabilitation and has been receiving patients from across the globe.
International patients can send their medical reports and a team of doctors will revert to them with a customised treatment protocol. Doctors at Vaidya also travel abroad to examine patients there.
It also has a successful track record of treating anorectal conditions through procedures like ‘ksharakarmam’ and ‘agnikarmam’ which are prescribed in the ancient texts under ‘Shalya Chikitsa’. Fertility treatment is another field which Vaidya Healthcare has mastered.
The novel healthcare enterprise provides different facilities for patients, both domestic and international. It has 50 well-furnished panchakarma rooms with proper hygiene. Different categories of rooms, including premium facility apartments, having air-conditioning, Wi-Fi connectivity and basic furniture are available at the centre. The hospital also has a unit attached to it that produces customized medicines for its patients.
“I was admitted for knee joint/osteoarthritis treatment. I would like to thank the entire team of doctors who prepared me for the treatment and care which were beyond my expectations. The nurses, too, were prompt, helpful, smiling at all hours. My stay in the hospital was a pleasure and I am indeed going to recommend the same to all who seek my opinion,” said George Pace from Canada, a former patient at Vaidya Healthcare.
As part of its expansion, they recently set up ‘Sreeragam Luxury Ayurveda Retreat’ at Maradu in Ernakulam. “This is our new brand, a premium segment mainly targeting European customers. Here, we focus on yoga and wellness. We will provide basic treatments at this centre, but complicated cases will not be taken here,” explained Dr. Kiran.
The 9000-sq. ft. aesthetically-designed treatment centre is meant for those looking for rejuvenation, beauty enhancement, stress relief, skin care or obesity treatments.
Vaidya Healthcare is currently in the process of securing NABH accreditation. The healthcare facility has plans to expand further in Kochi and to Bengaluru. A multi-specialty project near CIAL is also in the offing.
