Kochi: The ninth edition of Food Tech Kerala, the State’s only comprehensive food processing and packaging exhibition, commenced here on January 23.
The expo held at Bolgatty Palace is based on the theme ‘From the farm to the fork'. Having stalls related to the food processing and packaging industry, the event showcases the entire chain of the food industry, including cultivation (production) that mainly revolves around farms, to the processing of food and finally, its arrival on the table of the consumer.
Food Tech has participation from national and international companies. The Department of Industry, Government of Kerala, has also set up an exclusive Kerala State Pavilion for SMEs from the food processing sector of the State.
As part of the expo, the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and FQF (FICCI Quality Forum) has organised a one-day Quality Training Certification Programme on ‘Sustainable Food Safety Practices: Regulations and Standards’ on January 24.
The expo organised by Cruz Expos is supported and endorsed by the Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion (K-BIP), Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and UCO Bank. Food Tech expo will conclude on January 25.
