Paul Antony New Chief Secretary of Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram: Paul Antony IAS will be the next Chief Secretary of Kerala. A 1983 batch IAS officer, he will assume office on January 1, 2018. A Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided to appoint him as the Chief Secretary to replace K M Abraham, who retires from service on December 31.
Paul Antony will hold office as Chief Secretary till June 27, 2018. He is at present, he is Additional Chief Secretary in charge of Industries, Power, and Forest departments.
Born on June 27, 1958, Paul Antony is married, with two children. He is the son of P P Antony. He has an MA in Economics from Delhi School of Economics and another MA in Public Economic Management from Birmingham University, UK. He has 34 years of experience in the Indian Administrative Service.
Paul Antony was Chairman, Cochin Port Trust from 2011 to 2016. His earlier postings include CMD, KSEB; Principal Secretary to Government of Kerala, Power Department and SC/ST Department; Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Government of Kerala; a five-year term as Development Commissioner, Cochin Special Economic Zone; a four-year stint as Managing Director of the Kerala State Civil Supplies Corporation (SUPPLYCO); and a three-year stint as Director of Industries and Commerce. He was also Collector of Kollam and Alappuzha Districts.
