The Shining icon of Business Hospitality at Kerala’s Capital
Thiruvananthapuram: Gripped by severe jet lag after a long and tiring flight, most of the travellers may desperately seek to relax or take a little nap in the cosy confines of a tastefully done room. No matter whether you are a regular traveller or one on a business trip, such comforts of luxury hospitality now await you at affordable price in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala’s capital city. Situated in the heart of the city, Hotel Hycinth, a five-star property, goes a step further to ensure that its guests are well taken care of.
Hycinth is the first venture of PRT Group of Hotels which is into five-star hospitality. More than half-a-century ago, it started as a small restuarant business at Central Railway Station in the city. Decades later, and after much hard work put in by second and third generation of entrepreneurs, saw the rise of PRT Hotels as they set up Hycinth, and other hotel and restaurant chains across Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
While Thiruvananthapuram has several other luxury hotels, Hycinth has positioned itself as a property which fills the space of a business hotel in the region, according to Gautham Ramakrishnan, Executive Director, Hycinth.
“We want to provide the same kind of services offered by other luxury hotels at a nominal price. Our guests get the same kind of services they would usually get in any other luxury brand, at prices that are much more competitive.”
A premium hotel, Hycinth aims to engage its guests with a mix of contemporary and innovative hospitality. The hotel’s signature pastel shades provide a soothing touch to the senses of guests.
“In a tier-II city like Thiruvananthapuram we are positioning Hycinth as a luxury contemporary hotel, providing all the services offered by five-star hotels. Pricing is one of the key factors because our guests do not have to pay the premium prices while enjoying five-star amenities,” Gautham says about the business strategy.
The luxury hotel also houses a spacious 320-sq.ft. Club Room. It is specifically meant for business travellers, with an exclusive check-in counter at the reception.
The attraction does not stop here. The hotel has an entire floor dedicated to the single lady travellers. At ‘Eva’, only female employees handle all services from in-room dining to housekeeping to night patrol and chauffeuring. The rooms on this floor have all the features to pamper lady guests like specialised toiletries, potpourri, magazines and weighing scales.
Another attractive feature is Café Jade, an in-house, all-day dining restaurant that overlooks the luscious green gardens. Renowned culinary traditions are celebrated at Café Jade, which offers Western, Indian and Asian cuisines. The cafe has live-cooking stations and open kitchens, including a ‘chaat’ counter and a Pasta Bar. Café Jade is big enough to seat 116 persons at a time. Diners are allowed to host a gathering of colleagues or friends at Al Fresco, the meeting and dining area by the cafe.
The contemporary style bar, TBX, is the place where guests can enjoy the drinks. The lounge bar offers a varied choice of Indian and international brands of wine, beer and liquors along with classic and innovative cocktails.
The hotel also has another restaurant, Grove, where the guests can choose from a la carte menu or go for buffet.
Hycinth thus offers a splendid ambience for the business travellers to relax and enjoy a business trip.
